This is me, Scooter and George. Scooter is my car and George rides shotgun.
I think Scooter was born in 1994, so he’s old, but Scooter’s cool. He starts up when I put that key in the ignition. That’s all I need. I have tremendous gratitude to have wheels and Scooter’s cool.
People will ask me what kind of car I have and I tell them I have a Scooter. Of course, they think I mean “scooter,” but I don’t. I mean “Scooter!”
And George? George has been with me for years – probably for the last eight years or so. But, he changes from year to year in that I’ll get a new George, roll with him for a year, then give him away to someone who needs him. This George is a year old and it’s time for him to move on.
Some people think that I get just a little too out there (but, I don’t care – this is what I believe:), I believe that my Georges get stored up with love and travels when they’re with me for a year and then go on to share all of that with a child who needs it.
Do you ever look into the eyes of a toy and see love? It’s there. It is absolutely there. Ask any child. I make sure that when each George leaves me, he’s prepared to help a child deal with whatever they have to go through because love is the most powerful weapon in the universe.
So that’s how we roll, me, Scooter and my Georges.
