Our girl Corky & her eggs...
It’s hard to see how large she is in this picture, but Corky is about 12″ long and 8″ across.
I believe she’s about 20 years old. We’ve had her for about 8 years now. Actually, we had “him” for about 8 years and just discovered that he is a she! Corky girl laid some eggs this week. We’ve always referred to him as “him.” Interesting now to have to change our mindsets and refer to him as “her.” I always said “my boy Corky.” Now I have to get used to saying “My girl Corky.”
She fooled us because female red eared sliders have very long front claws. Hers are short like a male’s. Ah well — that’s my girl Corky!
